Board certified by both the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and by the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery, Dr. William Portuese is the medical director of the Seattle Facial Plastic Surgery Center located in Seattle, Washington. With over twenty years of experience in the field of facial cosmetic surgery, The face/neck lift is a fantastic operation for both men and woman in their 50s and 60s, when the signs of facial aging occur; such as jowls, excess fat and skin in the neck, appearance of muscle cords in the neck. A face/neck lift addresses jowling, neck laxity, removal of excess fat in the neck, and tightening the neck muscles to give a refreshed look without the wind tunneled appearance. The procedure takes approximately three hours under general anesthesia and before the surgery is over, two Jackson-Pratt drains placed underneath the skin of the neck to drain fluid and blood out during recovery. There are no wraps placed around the head and neck after the procedure. Dr. Portuese performs face/neck lifts at The Seattle Facial Plastic Surgery Center, a Medicare certified ambulatory surgery center. All surgeries are outpatient procedures and done under general anesthesia by board certified physician anesthesiologists from Physicians Anesthesia Services at Swedish Medical Center.
